This has been a difficult and sad week for Pat Halpin (TTM's chairman) and the rest of
us. Four of Pat’s friends passed away last week and two more this week.
The last was our electrical committee coordinator, Don Burrer. This leaves a giant
void in our MPC which will not be easy to fill. I have already started a
search for another coordinator and hope to have an answer soon. In the
meantime we have had tremendous support from Vic Louie (Vice pres & Ops chair) and John Stabe (webmaster) who have
started a monumental cleanup of obsolete and “mummified” components
under the north end of the layout just last weekend. So far they have
completely filled two trashcans and were able to dispose of one in the
dumpster.
Another item that I will recommend later is a laptop computer and
printer for inventory and cadrail use and of course some new two drawer secure file
cabinets.
Finally, we have an invitation from the Mogollan and Southwestern RR
(Tom Crosthwaite and Fred Bock) for a club operating session on their layout.
