Peter Shavney's presidents report 7/13/07

Congratulations to Larry, Jeff and Don for making substantial progress in the scenery and electrical areas during the past month in spite of lots of rain and high temperatures in the building.   After this meeting I would like to have a short planning committee meeting to review plans for other areas especially Springfield which got off to a great start but is now lagging behind the other areas.  I heard from Steve on Tuesday the tenth and he hopes to be back in action soon.  (He was present for the meeting)

A short note about protocol is in order at this point.  Some of our coordinators are very sensitive about other members bugging them while they are working on their projects. Once a coordinator or a project leader starts a project, please leave him alone to work in piece unless he calls for assistance.  And after the requested assistance is completed, don’t stand around making dozens of comments about the job he is doing, especially negative comments. If you don’t like what someone is doing, and you have a better idea, just submit your plan to the PC and be prepared to be a project leader yourself.

  TTM Board Meeting Major items:

1. The Studebaker was sold on E Bay which will permit work to go forward on completing the ADA requirements near the Depot.

2. A new heavier duty service entry box with direct electrical feed has also been approved and construction should start soon.  This should reduce the possibility of blackouts during the Christmas show and also provide for the eventual addition of A/C to the Zucht Bldg.

During the past month several members, Larry and his wife Hilda, John, Hugh Hemphill and I went by car on a rail safari to Lano,TX and surrounding areas beating the heavy rains by one week.  Article for Dust Collector?

Following this meeting I would like to hold meetings of the Executive Committee and Master Planning Committee.
